First day of the rest of my life………..

Sounds scary doesn’t it? Woke up this morning feeling, well, excited; its like when you are getting ready for a first date or to go on fabulous holiday and you feel excited, nervous, full of anticipation and to think I get to feel like that about the rest of my life, how cool is that?!
So, grabbing hold of my life and squeezing every last inch of happiness and fun out of it I am off to the gym for a PT session and then I have client this afternoon; I can’t wait to start applying the techniques and language patterns to every day life and to see how they can enrich all areas of my life.
First things first; GOALS. I have always thought goals were important to me and that was reinforced when Paul McKenna did his timeline exercise last year, my goals became really clear and have guided my decision making the last few months. Don’t think I would have achieved all I have the last six months without having understood my goals and the steps that form a part of each one.
No matter what you are doing, or in what area of your life, it’s really important to understand two things;
- Where you are now
- Where you want to be
We all need to understand where we are now, how we feel, what that looks like – it is only by understanding this that we can recognise
what we want and how we want to feel so spend a few minutes today thinking about how you feel now, your achievements, successes, troubles, worries etc anything that helps to get a handle on where you are in your life right now!
Now think about what you really want your life to look like, where do you want to be, what do you want to achieve and when – what does that look like, what does it feel like, what do you see, what do you hear. Do you truly understand what your hopes, dreams and goals are?
If we can understand where we are and where we want to be we can better understand the steps needed to bridge that gap and rather than it seeming like a vast chasm between the two points it can become a ladder of smaller steps each one building to the ultimate end goal of a brighter better future.
Have a wonderful, happy, healthy weekend.

At the risk of repeating myself, WOW, WOW and WOW! Another exhausting but amazing day at the NLP Practitioner Course in London. To be given the chance to try to trance someone, to understand the techniques and to practice them was fantastic and its there, almost! You can see and feel how it would work but like all things we all need to practice the words, the intonation, the rhythm so it looks like I will using lots of guinea pigs in the days and weeks ahead!
Spent the afternoon with some of the other Master Trainers taking us through different strategies and techniques and it was great to see how different they are but how each is effective in their own way – Michelle Paradise was fantastic!
John La Valle finished up again showing how we can use language and how the techniques can be applied in business, all the ideas I had for applying this beforehand have been shown to be severely limited; there are so many more ways NLP can be used than I ever thought!
I cannot believe this was only day two; I feel incredible and whilst my head is stuffed full of ‘stuff’ I need to process I already feel so
excited about the future and the endless opportunities ahead!
She’s back!!!

Life is manically crazy for me right now (only another week to go and I get my life back, woo hoo!) and there is no doubt at all that I am feeling the pressure and felling the stress – my lion isn’t so much outside the door but pretty much sat at the end of my bed (but I think he might be having a bit of a nap!)
But, despite the levels of stress, tiredness and physical injuries, I have managed to accomplish so much and kept most of the balls in the air, which reminded me of the old adage ‘if you want something done, give it to a busy person’! It seems that just when you are facing your most complex challenge, life decides to add another two or three to the mix and you really do have to draw on your reserves of strength to get through.

Oh I wish!!! As far as I am concerned, the main is a genius.
I was lucky enough to attend the ‘Get the life you want’ seminar last year presented by Paul McKenna and Richard Bandler and to see the inspirational quality of their work was amazing. Paul knows how to hold a room but the experience of c1000 people being put into a trance at the same time was incredible. The positive messages he installed then have stayed with me and I cannot recommend him enough.
Check out the short BBC clip and if you have the chance try either of his books/CDs “I can make you confident” or “I can make you thin” even if you don’t follow all the exercises they give you some useful tools to start to think about
Running before I can walk

I am so keen to get this PT business started I am in danger of running before I can walk!
Like everything in my life, once I make a firm decision I (a) always stick to it and (b) want to get all my plans in place and do everything RIGHT NOW! The reality is it’s not that simple – I still work full-time I have to finish my studies and I have my NLP training course booked as well, but I can’t help thinking if I just did SOMETHING productive and proactive I would feel so much better about the sense of stagnation I have!
The question I am mulling over though is what now? Do I try and get a part-time job doing anything in a gym to get some experience? Do I try and shadow other PTs to see how they do it? Do I keep reading, learning and planning but wait until after everything is sorted and then try and get my own clients? I really don’t know what to do for the best.
I know I am being impatient – patience was never one of my virtues and time hasn’t changed that at all – I just feel that I want to be doing something that will help move this forward.
Its been a rough couple of weeks but there is a small kernel of steel in there somewhere that is refusing to give in so I think its time to channel my inner Paul McKenna and get some focus back in my life!
Onwards and upwards!
